The Floral Notebook: Blouse Review

Earlier today I received my blouses from a small brand called "The Floral Notebook", a brand that does custom sizing orders on numerous lolita items, their biggest items being blouses. You send in your measurements and pick one of their styles (they can also do original designs or modifications as well if asked), and the item is made just for you. They have a variety of colors to choose from as well, and the seamstress will work with you to find the exact color you need.

They were having a sale mid December, so I jumped on the chance and ordered two blouses. For time reference, I ordered at the end of November, my order was shipped out December 20th, and I received my blouses today, January 20th.

My package:

Super beat up! When I saw the tear I freaked out. I was just hoping my blouses were ok...

First was the "Translucent Dream" blouse in Brown:

Missing a button, which I found in the wrapping it was in. The back of the button appears to be broken off too, so there was no remaining loop for me to attach it back on (likewise, the thread loop where the button should have been hanging onto was still intact, so it wasn't ripped off).

I didn't take photos wearing this one, but it was very cute on. Thankfully I don't wear skirts, so the missing button will be covered up by my dresses. Going to look into getting a replacement though.

Next blouse was the "Princess of the Rose" in White:

No flaws, my favorite of the two. I kind of want this one in a million colors.

 Overall Experience: 3/5

Outside of the missing button on one blouse, they're wonderful items. I like the fabric, the fit on each of them was perfect with the measurements I supplied, and the colors are exactly what I wanted. However, I am marking down the score due to the package and button issues, as well as the incredibly long time I had to wait (The seamstress never sent me tracking, so I was left in the dark for a lot of my transaction). I may order from The Floral Notebook again, I'm hoping if I do that my next transaction goes much smoother.

Wunderwelt Guide & Review!

My first post, let's make it a good one!

I recently ordered from a used lolita clothing shop called Wunderwelt, which appears to be a fairly new store. People were skeptical due to the low prices, so I dove in and made an order, which turned out to be successful! I'll post a small review and a buying guide for overseas buyers (I am in America, they might have different policies for other countries).

(Front Page)

Upon coming to the main site you'll see a new arrivals section, and all of the brands listed on the side.

Now we'll look at an item to purchase:

The thing you want to look at for each item is the Rank, shown circled above. Like Closet Child, Wunderwelt marks the condition of its goods on a scale. For example, a Rank A item is in near perfect condition, and a Rank D item is in very poor condition.

All of the usual info is made available like price, sizing, etc. All of this text is ready to copy, so be sure to run it through google translate if you want specifics on why something is marked down. The item above according to google translate is marked as a Rank C due to stains and scratches.

Be careful checking the condition, a lot of these pictures look very clean, and it can be easy to miss the flaws!

Add the items you'd like to your cart (the cart icon next to the item) and proceed to checkout.

If you need to delete items from your cart, you can click the circled Kanji shown above on the left of the item. If you would like to continue shopping you can click the white button on the bottom to be taken back or simply click the other brand/section links. To start checkout click on the large pink button underneath the cart summary.

This is the first screen after starting checkout. This site has a login option which allows you to make an account. I didn't make an account to order, and you do not need one to successfully purchase any items.

To proceed with checkout, click on the third pink button down. You will get the drop down text shown above (telling you that you are about to proceed without an account login), confirm by clicking the blue button to proceed.

Next Page:

I've crossed out the areas you can ignore for filling in your information. For the Address line be sure to write your full address all the way to the zip code. Then your phone number and email in the boxes below. Click the pink button to proceed.

Now you can select a payment method. I chose Paypal for my order. I do believe they also accept credit card as an option, as it's the first one on the list above , so can use that one if you don't have a PayPal. Again, pink button allows you to continue.

Finally, the confirmation page. I've blocked out my personal info, but it should show all of your information and payment method. If you'd like to go back to make any edits, the white button underneath pink button will take you back. Once everything looks good, click on the pink button to finish. You have now made an order!

I don't have screen caps of the following section as it requires the payment, but you should be redirected back to payment options again. As I chose PayPal, it took me to straight PayPal's website where I logged in, and was able to make my first payment.

Wunderwelt will need to email you to confirm shipping costs, so be sure to use a good email that won't block their address. They will email you with the costs and link you to a new listing with your shipping total (it will look like a dress listing on their website, but it is a custom made one for you to pay, and should show the total they've quoted for you). It should run similarly to the checkout process, and as usual, I finished after being directed to PayPal's website to pay.

Once everything was paid, they emailed me saying they had confirmed the payments and would prepare a tracking number for me, which they sent promptly after my last payment.

According to my email dates, my order was placed on December 29th, and after staying in touch with them to make the shipping payment, they gave me my tracking on January 4th. I received my item in the mail on January 8th using EMS shipping. It all took a little over a week, pretty good in my book!

My lovely purchase! It was a Rank B item, with no notes of any flaws. It looked good after I searched it over,  and I couldn't find anything wrong with it, it looks brand new to me honestly.

Overall: Positive Experience! I will be keeping an eye on Wunderwelt for future used goods, the system was easy to figure out, and their communication and English skills in the ongoing emails they sent me were straight to the point and clear. Highly recommended!

Hello World,

Hoping to start adding content here soon. I'm looking to post a bit about my adventures and purchases here, I love taking photos and writing so a blog seemed like the perfect thing to start up. Here's hoping for a good end of the year, and many exciting posts for 2015 and beyond!
